Sahlgrenska Academy Students for Sustainability

Sahlgrenska Academy Students for Sustainability is a student organization working to establish a more sustainable view of man andenviroment at the Sahlgrenska academy.

SASS arranges various types of events such as movie nights, lectures and workshops where we learn more about enviroment and sustainability and at the same time also get the chance to get to know other students and have fun! We aim to create a platform for students from different programs to get together and network, because we learn from each other, and because it gives us a better chance to bring up and carry forward matters important to the whole academy.

Besides from giving students the opportunity to influence their current situation, we also hope that they will bring more knowledge and understanding of these issues into their future profession.

SASS consists of students and PhD-students and we collaborate with other student organizations, enviromental managers at the Sahlgrenska academy and Läkare för Miljön (Swedish Doctors for the Environment). Since 2012 we are a part of Sahlgrenska Akademins Studentkår (The Sahlgrenska academy students' Union).

We have regular meetings and mailings every month where you can read about what´s going on in SASS. All students and PhD-students at the Sahlgrenska Academy are welcome to join our meetings, and most of our events are also open to the public. Since 2013 we have worked with the “Meatfree one-day intitiative” at all the restaurants and cafeterias at the Sahlgrenska academy.

Welcome to our next meeting! Contact us at sass@saks.gu.se, or look us up on facebook for more information!
