Now is the time to nominate a student for the Gunnar Svedberg Prize of 2016!

What is the Gunnar Svedberg prize?
The Gunnar Svedberg Prize was instated in 2006 as a farewell gift to the
then Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gothenburg, Gunnar Svedberg
(2003-2006). The Prize is meant to celebrate the engaged and caring
attitude shown by Gunnar Svedberg towards the students during his
time as Vice Chancellor. The prize is given annually at the University’s
Conferment Ceremony in the end of October and the winner is awarded
a sum of 10 000 kronor together with a diploma as a gratitude for their
efforts.

Who can be awarded?
Any one who studies or has recently studied at the University of
Gothenburg* can be nominated for the price. The winner has to be
considered by the jury to be a deserving student, whom can be proven
to have in some specific way or ways, improved the situation for
students at the University of Gothenburg. Further the student awarded
the prize should be considered to have worked in the spirit of Gunnar
Svedberg throughout their university career to the benefit of the
University of Gothenburg’s student body as a whole. The achievements
of the recipient of the prize are seen as especially commendable if they
have promoted collaboration between students from different
departments at the University and/or between students and university
staff.

Who has the right to nominate?
Anyone with a connection to the University of Gothenburg can send in a
nomination to the jury. Nominations shall be sent to info@gus.gu.se
no later than the 25th of April 2016. All the nominations needs to
include a motivation and contact information to the nominee as well as
contact information to the one who sends in the nomination.

*Members of the Gunnar Svedberg’s price-jury, any current member of
the University of Gothenburg’s Student Unions board, any current
member of the University board, or any one who has a close
relationship to any of the above mention parties and/or people can’t be
nominated for the award.
